The Museum combines the research of its world-renowned staff with its award-winning design expertise to create high-quality exhibitions and events.
The Museum is a cultural and philanthropic institution dedicated to the presentation, conservation, and interpretation of the world's artistic legacy through our partnerships.
Patrons are encouraged to rent one of a plethora of areas inside our museum including theaters, classrooms, solariums, garden walkways, atriums, and galleries with restrictions.
Museum members receive information about exhibitions, events, programs & free admission to special Museum activities. Returning members who increase their category of contribution, will receive a special gift.
Throughout the year the museum hosts various events to raise funds to support the museum efforts. These events vary in scale - from our annual fundraising gala, to the rodeo, to Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame
I have been searching for this place since 2004, it was just a quick stop off, but it has been with me ever since! It was a wonderful place, and being a person who loves to "see" history with thine own eyes, this place was perfect! The Exhibition was just amazing! I hope to bring my kids out some day.
I wasn't expecting to go here, but we had a few hours to kill while in the area. I'm really glad we went. I'm not really into "art n stuff" but I really enjoyed getting up close to the art and culture, seeing interesting pictures and had fun with some of the interactive games.
Visited with my husband and elderly parents and thoroughly enjoyed the day. We only went along to "keep the husband happy" but ended up enjoying it almost as much as him! The displays are very interesting and immaculate with friendly, helpful staff on hand to help when you need it.
Harry Robinson researched volumes of African American history making him a legend in his field.

Money. It doesn't grow on trees and can't buy you love or happiness, but aparently, it makes the world go round. The subject of so many songs and cliches, money dominates and determines our life ...
When the Museum receives new acquisitions to its collection of prints and drawings, either through gifts or purchased through special funds, it is of the utmost importance that they are cared for appropriately...
